R E C R U I T

The rest will take care of itself. When FRESHMEN are our go to players we have a very apparent problem.

We can complain about play-calling and management after we are winning 8 games again. We are all paying this staff to recruit and win. The clock starts today as the season is over.

Coach B, I want you to be the guy so go and get it done so I don't have to vote against you with a check like so many others might do too.

I think the coaching today was fine. I think it's been pretty good all season. The problems are directly related to the 'talent' we have at certain positions.

It's a positive if the players coming behind them are of equal or better talent.

Bielema is already looking for a new job dude. He was good with the moral victory early in the week, whoever got this team up and ready to play deserves Kudos. I'm not convinced Bielema was that person.

Just a gut feeling. I hope I'm wrong.

No he is not. The bottom has been reached and he is getting a very nice salary to fix it moving forward including rectifying his resume.

If he brings in a good recruiting class he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Beilemania is real. Petrino left the cupboard so bare. I won't even grade this year.

Recruiting has always been the key. I hope this season doesn't negatively impact that.

It already has.

Elegdgmoergh gone.
Wingo gone.
No chance at any John Curtis kids.
Strike out with all the elite DFW recruits
Frazier did what Fraziers do.
No Wisky flips. (going 6-6 with momentum could've gotten some kids to change their commitments)
No S. Florida hard commits yet.
No 5 star level kids (they're fast tracked to the NFL anyway, they want to go to big programs and win while they're in college)

The recruiting class won't improve over the usual 3-4 4 stars and 15 3 stars and 5 projects.

We really needed a season where the growth was evident. We finally got that in the last 3 games but the coaching was equally as bad as the crunchtime play and the team couldn't overcome and win the last two when they were well in reach of ending the season on a very positive note after a bowl game was out of reach.

If I happen to come across Bielema out boozing it up during the off-season, I'll not be able to keep myself from politely asking him to not be celebrating in public after the shite-show that was put on the field.

This screams to me we do not have the salesman we need if you are hoping for a season to recruit.

Good Lord fire that person yesterday. I want someone who can build a foundation even if he gets fired 4 years later and someone else comes in with the same foundation and continues to build.

It's like becoming wealthy. Someone has gotta start it and someone else must expand it without blowing it otherwise you're back to zero. Old money stays old for a reason.

You won't have to worry about that as Long's arse is on the line along with donors who aren't happy if we whiff on recruiting after this season!

This. This fanbase wants results yesterday. If Bielema keeps up his Twitter antics and lays an egg in recruiting his seat will warm up.

Simplified.

Nutt (decent coach, decent Arkansas recruiter, bad out-of-state recruiter) = SEC Championship games.

Petrino (great coach, decent Arkansas recruiter, bad out-of-state recruiter) = BCS Bowl

Bielema (good coach, decent Arkansas recruiter, ?) = ?

Do you see the pattern.. When Arkansas had great homegrown talent with a great coach we went to the BCS. When Arkansas has great homegrown talent with a decent coach we went to the SEC Championship game.

What happens when Arkansas has a good coach, good Arkansas recruiter and good out-of-state recruiter? We don't know yet but we will find out.
