Why would Sumlin not go for 2 after Evans TD?

The Evans TD (had it stood) plus a 2pt conversion would have made it a 2 possession game. For some reason Sumlin had aTm lined up for XP which would have made it a 3 possession game.
Should we just assume that was going to be a fake?

I asked my buddy the same thing when it was happening. Either it was the rare XP-fake or he had given up.

JFF was signaling for 2 but apparently was overruled.
