Greg Doyle (CBS Sports) gave his opinion on AU and the AU HC position last year right before we hired Gus....
Lucky for us, Gus is stupid I guess.

Back in late November 2012, when Alabama was on the verge of winning its second consecutive national title -- its third in four years -- I said whoever takes the Auburn job is delusional. I didn't have the negative outlook that Doyle had, but damn.......Gus and co. have surprised the crap out of me, too.
I don't know when is the best time to do so, but we need to float some more preseason prediction threads.

A lot of us went off the deep end. His just had a bigger audience.
I've liked GD sine 2010, he was one of the few that didn't go with the flow of roasting us.

Good article. Appreciate when people can admit they were wrong. If you think about it, we "simply" needed to add a good QB and a few good freshman to the mix of decent players we already had. This was my hope at the start of the season, but there have definitely been a few nice surprises. Tre is blowing my mind.

Doyle is pretty fair. He owns up when he is wrong. And as previously said, he didn't jump on the bash au bandwagon

Not surprised. I saw him mouth off to some Auburn fans on twitter last week after his Music City Bowl prediction...those tweets also deleted.
