I see it happening. I told my pops it would happen before the game even started. Clearly this is a weak opponent, but Johnson looks damn good and the offense is clicking for him. Thoughts?

Good start, but remember WCU is super shitty.

I realize that, but I think JJ has been putting in some serious work in practice. He certainly looks the part.

Running the offense like a champ. Had a bad pass but then immediately made up for it with a bomb to Louis for a TD. 6-8 for 102 and a TD right now, if I recall correctly.

Ehhhh, I don't know about that. Might see him more often though.

Gus said before game that Nick Marshall is the starter. I think JJ will definitely get some series

Team is definitely responding to him and he's more accurate. So I think it's safe to say he will start from here forward. Marshall isn't a QB.

I think Gus burned JJ's redshirt so he doesn't have to face him when he takes the Arkansas job in 4 years.

Western Carolina has beaten Mars Hill and has lost to Samford. Patrick Miller could play quarterback and we'd probably still win.

We are playing a high school team so it is meaningless to me.

Firstrowsports works, if you can get past the sketchy ads

Yeah, but there is absolutely no reason to play Johnson when Wallace is entirely capable of getting us a win.

Not necessarily true after watching Marshall with no pressure totally miss wide open receivers 10 yards down-field. At that point it's just pitch and catch. Doesn't matter though, JJ has a strike against him with that forced throw down-field. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Obviously it means JJ has a legit shot of beating Marshall out at some point or he would stay redshirted. By some point I am saying possibly next year though it could be this year as well.

Obviously none of us know. Gus will start who he wants. I'm not pulling for either one over the other.

This game doesn't mean much at all IMO. I just want whoever gives us the best shot to beat AtM next week and that is impossible to say. I'm sure everyone will make wild arse guesses next week though on who that may be now.

Does Wallace give us the best chance to win against aTm if Marshall goes down in that game?

FTR, my wild arse guess is Nick gives us a better chance to win next week.

And I tend to think/agree that part of the reason JJ is playing today is in case Nick gets hurt and can't go again as the season goes on.
