Just some stats to think about tigahs

Opp Third Down Conversion %

UF has allowed 14 of them all year 23%
LSU has allowed 30 at 36%

First Downs by Opp

UF 63 total first downs through 5 games
LSU 118 through 5 games

Of course UF is ultra stingy in giving up the yds rushing...average is 65 yds per game.

Florida defense hasn't faced that isn't even close to LSU's quality.

LSU defense hasn't faced an offense in the SEC that is as anemic as Florida's.

Game will be over by early third quarter.

LSU's Offense is 3rd best in the Nation at converting 3rd downs.

UF's defense is 2nd best in the Nation at defending 3rd down.

Its gonna be a 4 Q game, and strength vs strength and weakness vs. weakness.

Florida's offense has shown improvement over the past few weeks. LSUs defense? Not so much........ LSU will probably win, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Florida win this game followed by LSU fans bitching about how hard their schedule is.

I'm with you. I think LSU will win. But weird things tend to happen in LSU-UF games.

Wouldn't shock me at all if UF wins. UF has the talent to do it.

The team that has fewer turnovers will probably win. Arkie gave us a battle for almost 3 qts and thank God for Purifoy & company in the secondary when we plain out stopped the pigs run game.

The pigs sold out with 8 men in the box probably 80% of the time. Murphy took advantage of it with some open receivers and his scrambling.

If we do not turn the ball over we win. Wont be easy as I expect LSU to do the same and load up for the run. Can LSUs DL hold up in the 4th qt?
They have two very good DL in Johnson and Rasco, but the depth isn't there with much experience.

The real LSU secondary is playing in the NFL and will be tested by Murphy....don't kid yourself, Murphy is leading an efficient offense designed to take advantage of salty defense. We have struggled to do much iso blast running in the middle and its not the rbs fault...teams are just trying to make sure they stop our run game.

You're not going to turn the ball over, because LSU doesn't force any. The secondary stupidly plays the man and not the ball.

That being said, Florida's offense will not be able to keep up with LSU's.

I'd imagine this is what LSU is going to do....in fact I think we like the matchup of our corners vs your WRs even with our young guys. I'd say make sure we cover anything underneath and make Murphy beat us over the top. I mean hell even wide open 30+ yd pass plays aren't high percentage.

well lucky for UF....our offense won't have to keep up with lsu's cause our defense will keep us right in the game with lsu.

oh trust me, UF do too.....lsu's corners couldn't guard a elderly man on his death bed.

They did pretty well against MSU in half 2 on Saturday....a team that probably right now compares pretty evenly with UF in the passing game.

LSU only gave up 3 points in the second half with new personnel in.

i think the game rests on fl's ability to give their defense a rest. if their offense cant produce enough first downs to give that defense a break. if they cant, then lsu owns the 4th qtr and most likely the game.
