Looks like the weather is going to be outstanding. Driving up 65 Wed. and will overnight just above Nashville or Cave City and then onto Lexington. Parking at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park. Really excited b/c last time we were there there was a monsoon. Looking forward to another great time in a beautiful area!
Last time we were in Lexington we had the best pizza we have ever had outside of Italy. We went to 2 different locations, one was near Hampton Inn I75 and the other near Homewood Suites.

Drive careful and enjoy your stay.
I'm sure you saw WildcatMike's guide to Lexington on the rant, Keeneland will be in session Wed-Sun, which is always a lot of fun for visiting fans.

I really wish I could be making the trip. It's just a little far and my sister's birthday is this week. Have a great time

Just north of Nashville is Goodlettsville and there is a Kroger just off the interstate where I fuel up before crossing into KY and more expensive gas. If you are going that route you will hit the BG parkway and getting off at Bardstown is a good food stop and distilleries nearby. Downtown Bardstown is nice and there is a nice local place to eat there where the food is pretty good.

Thanks Cheesegrits. We need diesel and a fuel stop that is big rig friendly. I will check that out in my "The Next Exit" book. We have learned the hard way to make sure the stop is such that we can get in and out.
We are either staying at a GoodSam park in Goodlettsville or on in Cave City, depends on what time we are able to pull out. Hubby isn't much for trying to park after dark.
He is always happy to get back to Kentucky Bluegrass. Daughter will be wearing Crimson this trip. She changes to blue as soon as football is over and is a true UK roundball fan. The girl knows how to pick champs!

If those are the choices, I would opt for the first as your stay for the night. Gas is cheaper in TN for non diesel but not sure about diesel. Price creeps up as you near the state line and the closer you get to LEX the more the price goes up. If you are staying at the Horse Park tho, Georgetown is close by and the gas station near the Toyota Plant always seemed to have the lowest cost gas in the area.
Lot of Bama / Cats cross for some reason and have seen it for several generations so your daughter is not alone. Some say it is the Bear but lots of folks have kin between the states going way back before that. Hope you all have a safe trip and good weather. I saw the final schedule for basketball and Bama will play @ UK for UK's senior night this year in Rupp.

ETA: And hope you have a good time Bama54. That Keeneland/UK Football daily double is money every time.

Sure thing, but you wouldn't want to meet me IRL, you would be disappointed.
Do I just post it here? I'm OK with that if so.

Have a safe trip up and enjoy your stay. To add on to other references of things to do in Lexington, go to Winchell's or Joe Bologna's (two of my favorite places to eat in Lexington) if you have the chance.
My parents moved down to Alabama about 10 years ago (Jasper)...However I've been slightly disappointed in my younger brother as he's become both an Alabama and Kentucky fan since he's lived there.
