Sounds like a setup, sorry it didn't work out for her.

That bitch is lucky to be alive.

And whos surprised that a blind date set up through Craigslist is bad.

With a title like that I'm expecting some kind of violence or at the very least some drunken debauchery.

The game was more of a train wreck.

It was a harmless date and some tool radio show host needed his 15 mins of fame. I hope his listeners bash him.

Exactly. The girl acted in good faith. Her mistake was assuming that in this day and age, her date would as well.

He trolled a date seeker on craigslist....what did she expect...I've seen innocent people trolled to the point of legit meltdowns on this very board that were more f'd up than what he did.

I mean hell it could be worse she could have gotten a date with a rapist that raped her in the stadium bathrooms.....considering it was a craigslist deal I'd say it turned out OK for her.

Sorry but the whole thing has sounded like a publicity stunt from the start. The fact that she picked a radio host (imagine the odds!) and that she's now seeking more publicity via the media by saying it was awful and he was was obviously seeking publicity just make it look all the more like a setup by both of them (it's not as though the media was going to be camped out at her door to see how it went -- funny and strange craigslist ads garner attention all the time with people never making the news). Also, don't forget this made the radio circuits before any one even raised an eyebrow about the ad.

The radio guy probably wanted publicity/the story and the girl wanted it too. Simple as that. They both know that no one is going to investigate a pure 'entertainment story' like this.

Does anyone truly believe a young blonde with a game ticket couldn't find an escort? And what about the story in the ad where dad allegedly claimed her date couldn't go at the last minute? The original ad didn't sound like she was looking for relationship material let alone a real date but rather just someone to go to the game with and have a decent time with.

Someone either sought attention from the start or simply wants to milk those 15 minutes of fame for all they're worth.

I don't believe it's all on him based on her story. Why would she complain about a guy in a relationship if she was just in need of someone willing to have a bit of fun? Why seek out more attention? Why setup the ad when a girl like her could easily land a friendly male companion on her own? It just seems odd.

However, if you're right then yeah the guy is a douche that deserves to be reamed out by listeners. I just know everyone and his sister is seeking fame these days and strange craigslists ads are a good way to do that -- the media features them often.

A little more research reveals the father apparently placed the ad on Gainesville's craigslist. He also made no demand that the escort be a UT fan and calls himself a "Vols fan" rather than a Vol fan which is a more common term used by fans when referring to themselves (even calling oneself a fan of the Tennessee VOLS makes more since than Vols fan. It's also a bit odd that any Vol fan or any father for that matter would place such an ad and even stranger that a Vol fan would place an ad in Gainesville when the bad behavior of Gator fans (deserved or not) is the stuff of myth and legend, especially for UT fans. One of the main reasons cited by fans for not traveling to the Swamp is the behavior of UF fans toward UT fans.

Folks will travel all the way to Oregon and yet skip UF not because we lost to Oregon or/were expected to lose but because theif reputation is so bad.

That said, I heard from some UT fans that made the trip that UF fans were very good to them. Maybe it's because the fair weather fans UF had are no longer interested or due to the streak though that never stopped the intensity of other fans regardless of who owned one (they just never garnered the awful rep of Gator fans) or any number of reasons but I heard more positive experiences regarding Gator fans overall behavior and hospitality than I've ever heard. There were still a few bad apples but I hear that stadium police were on guard and quick to give any UF or UT fan that stirred too much shite, or even looked like they might, a quick escort out of the stands. The consensus from those who made the trip was that UF fans and UT fans got along well this time and sat back and bitched about how awful their teams were.

As a whole, UF has been the only fanbase that has garnered such an awful rep in both good times and bad amongst Vol fans -- even during our various streaks against Bama there was always a good respect and fun between fans in real life. So I'm glad to hear things *might* be changing *but* there's no way a fan would've had this impression ahead of time.

And if you're a UT fan then why not make the post on Knoxville's craigslist first? It just doesn't make sense.

It's pretty obvious dude was ghey as frick. The radio industry is overrun with the gheyness. Like Disneyworld while school is out ghey.

I can't understand what the deal is with the chick though. She seems attractive enough and works for the FBI. She must be high maintenance as hell.

This was my first thought as well. Why did pops think this was necessary?
