Their Band is awesome and was my favorite part of that last year's game, yes that's because we lost.

LSU is the only road trip I see on the schedule, but let's see if our resident old band queer has any info.

I had heard they aren't letting them come for some reason. Surprising though since we won't be back to Fay for a LONG time as it stands.

I still don't believe the Jerryworld thing will be more than 5 years though before they get out of it. Too much money to be made with home games at New Kyle and Arkie still has games in WMS. A 9 game SEC schedule will make it worse.

Isn't Fayetteville closer than Lubbock? Don't see why they wouldn't just bring the upperclassmen unless they're going to Missouri or Ole Miss.

Arkansas told A&M back during the summer that the Aggie Band would not be allowed to march at halftime.

So no, FTAB not traveling. Not sure what is going on at halftime in Arkansas where they don't have time to let the Aggie Band march.

Seems like amateur hour in Fayetteville.

Poster on another board said Arkansas is doing some sort of halftime presentation that won't leave any time for the visiting band.

Okay, that would make sense... at least Arky sense. You would think they could do that during another game and let A&M bring the band in.

Oh well... Arky got to Arky.

BQ's don't do pregame unless it's a bowl game. Either the Aggie Band marches halftime, or they don't go.

Official explanation on Arkansas not letting our band perform:

quote:

Texas A&M will play the University of Arkansas this Saturday in Fayetteville, but two symbols of Aggie tradition will be missing. Arkansas says the Aggie Band and Reveille won't be allowed on the field, but it's nothing personal.

"Apparently in the SEC, you have to ask that university permission to perform at halftime. So we sent a letter asking. They sent one back that said you can come to the game, but you can't perform at halftime," said Karly Hartman, a senior in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.

Arkansas athletic officials say their home game schedule is to blame.

"With a limited number of home games on campus, we have limited opportunities to recognize those from the University and former student-athletes, groups etc., so we must maximize the opportunities we do have," said Kevin Trainor, University of Arkansas Associate Athletic Director for Public Relations.

Arkansas athletic officials say the Razorback marching band will perform during halftime Saturday. Arkansas will also recognize their SEC Football Legend of the year.

No matter what the reason is, A&M had to cancel more than 100 hotel rooms.

"I was looking forward to getting up to Fayetteville," said Geoffrey Germaine, member of the Aggie Band.

"We're mostly bummed out, because we really like going to the away games," said Hartman.

Aggies are also bummed out, because the Razorbacks aren't allowing Reveille at the game either. In fact, they don't allow any live mascots on their home turf.

"She's part of the corps, and she's part of A&M. The fact that they won't let us take her up there...I mean that's even more disappointing than them not letting us play," said Germaine.

Arkansas officials say they look forward to seeing the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and Reveille on the field next year when the two teams face off at the Southwest Classic being played at the Cowboys AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

KBTX

Are they doing this for other games, or just the Aggie game? I mean, I'm sure the entire state of Arkansas is looking forward to finding out who the "SEC Legend of the Year" is, so that's probably a big deal.

Frankly, I just don't get why our fans get so up in arms over stupid shite like this. It's their stadium, they can do whatever the frick they want.

And for the record, I go to Football games FOR FOOTBALL (and tailgating), not for some fricking band or mascot.

Yeah I'll start caring if our own admin stops letting our band play at our own stadium. Arkansas can do whatever they want an I am like you in that I give few fricks about our band performance, especially on the road.

Agreed. I'm just feeling sorry for myself because it feels like so long since I've seen the FTAB live. If I wasn't going, I wouldn't give a shite.

As you can tell by reading the OP, Arkansas fans were interested as well.

This is still college football, not the NFL. It's pretty normal to ask whether the visiting band will be performing.
