Bobby is 1-0 this season after beating a terrible Kentucky team. Below are his former asst. that are now head coaches in FBS and there records.

Paul Haynes - Kent St. HC 1-0
Won 17-10 vs. Liberty

meh

Paul Petrino - Idaho HC 0-1
Lost 40-6 @ North Texas

LOL

Garrick McGee - UAB HC 0-1
Lost 31-34 @ Troy

Thoughts? BP was a badass that did everything as we learned last year.

FYI Johnelle and Fort Lewis open the season this weekend at Southern Utah. That should be interdasting

Idaho and UAB are both dead end jobs right now. I really wish Garrick had held out for something a little better. I know he had to take what he could get though with the supposed skeletons that he has in the closet. He can get them turned around though I think. He actually is a good coach. He isn't one of the guys that followed Bobby around his entire career. He was pretty successful at Northwestern as an OC before he came here.

Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure. Gotta be hard to get decent recruits smack dab in the middle of the SEC battleground

Yeah their classes have been pretty terrible from a ratings standpoint. That school has so many disadvantages because big brother in the system won't give them anything that they need.

He is coaching up some kids though. I watched a couple of their games last year and he is still a good QB coach. He started a freshman last year that was pretty good by year end. He'll be pretty solid and putting up big numbers by the time he graduates.

I've always liked Garrick. Good coach IMO.

I think Haynes might be decent at Kent eventually having former recruiting ties up there in that region. Hard to say how good he was here b/c Paul threw it 90 times a game and kept the D out there

I always had a good feeling about Haynes, he just didn't stand a chance once Bobby was gone. I think he'll be solid.

PP, he'll run Idaho deeper into the ground than they already are.

GM will be OK I think, but he better get the F out of BH ASAP.

Part of his contract requires an average attendance quota for each season.

That mean's Idaho can fire him "for cause" (something his bro is familiar with) when they suck and have WMS like turn outs for games.

Good on them, he'll be fired after this year then.

I just watched the 1st quarter of the UAB-Troy game on WatchESPN since my Broncos are throttling the Ravens and I have to say that I'm surprised they lost. They looked much better than Troy in that quarter. The Trojans must have done a good job of adjusting later in the game to slow down that offense. It was a nice mix of Petrino's concepts and Garrick's. I think he might have a decent year if they can stay consistent.

I think the future is bright for coach garrick. Maybe not so much at uab, lets hope it doesn't hurt his chance at a bigger job.

Agreed. Hopefully he can turn it around quick enough to get the hell out of dodge.

On a side note, if Petrino stays at WKU next year then there is a good chance we will see a UAB-WKU matchup since they are moving up to CUSA. That would be a great game to watch.
