SIAP

For anyone attending the Bama/ATM game and coming in the night before.

They are having a concert the night before the big game just prior to Yell Practice at Kyle this year with Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell. Lots of great seats left including a few in the Zone Club where you can buy alcohol and have the ability to get in the AC). The concert ends a little after 11 and then you can watch everyone form up for Midnight Yell on the East Deck (the Concert is in the Zone). Still a rumor that Drake may show up at Midnight Yell but no confirmation yet.

I went last year for REK before the UF game and it was great but this year's lineup is much better. Here is the info on the concert:

Why? Unless Drake starts cursing he will be fine, he isn't exactly a gangster. Just having him show up and talk at Yell would be cool, they have had special guests at Yell plenty of times before. Besides, Yell isn't really a "family" event since it starts at Midnight.

if JFF invites his friends then Aggie nation should welcome him with open arms.

"First Yell" and "Midnight Yell" are actually 2 separate events. "First Yell" is a straight up concert and costs money. It will have about 5-15k people in all likelihood and be in the North End Zone. "Midnight Yell" is free and happens about 45 minutes later and consists of Yells, songs, stories, and kissing your date with 40k plus on the East Deck.

Last year most people who went to the concert just stayed in their seats and watched the East Deck fill up for Yell Practice and watched show (ESPN was there and likely will be again this year if Gameday comes). Here was last year at UF: Aggies in full cult mode

The rumor is Drake may show up for Yell Practice.

Texas Red Dirt music rarely makes it east of the Mississippi.

East. fricking east.

And every Southerner should have heard of Lyle and Emmy Lou.

Ok getting Drake to come to the A&M/Bama is cool and all, but exactly why is he here? Seems kinda random and all for him to be there.

Robert Earl Keen is really good. He is pretty famous in the state of Texas, I don't know about nationally. But hey that's a good thing. Pat Green use to make his best music before Nashville snatched him up.

I don't know how anyone can't love this:

Robert Earl

Or this:

Lyle Lovett

Or this:

Emmylou and Rodney Crowell

Once again, Midnight Yell and First Yell are 2 different things.

There was never any intention of Drake being on the bill for First Yell. First Yell has an older crowd of BM Ags and is more family friendly, Drake would not fit.

Midnight Yell OTOH is much more casual and a wilder crowd. It certainly isn't a reach to think Drake will be in town for the game since he and Johnny are good friends (Johnny even flew up to Toronto to hang out with him). If he is in town it wouldn't be a big deal to have him come down with the Yell Leaders to talk for a minute or even to do a modified "Started from the Bottom". It makes sense for Drake PR wise as well, he would get great pub out of it.

There have also been A&M football players that tweeted Drake is coming, that is where the rumor started.
