Stoops Monday Press Conference (Post-WKU)

Stoops has a press conference at noon EST but apparently there's some stuff already floating around regarding the depth chart given to media.
- Max Smith is listed as the #1 QB. Previously it was listed with Max Smith or Jalen Whitlow.
- Zach West is listed as the starter at LG.
- Both Rumph and Kory Brown are listed as starters.
- Cody Quinn is no longer listed on the depth chart (most are assuming he's done for the season due to his injury).
- Ryan Timmons is now listed as the #1 WR.
- TraVaughn Paschal is listed as a starter at LB.

I know Cat was asking about long snapper injuries. We got some confirmation today on that.

Some other notes as the press conference goes on:
- WR Alex Montgomery should get some more snaps in the rotation this week. He was apparently "sick as a dog" for WKU and didn't play much at all.
- "I’m not going to sit here and say bad things about our players … but we have a long way to go." - Stoops
- Smith will get left in the game if he gets the offense moving. They will have some packages for Whitlow so he'll still be involved in the offense.
- On the defense he said that the lineman tried to do too much and linebackers had poor pursuit.
Quite frankly Stoops has been really candid today about the shitty position this team is in. Basically said in so many words that there's a talent deficit and a long, long road to correcting that. Obviously something we all knew, but it's refreshing to hear a coach put that out there without throwing specific players under the bus.

Here's the full press conference for anyone who wants to watch (scroll forward to the 17:45 mark on the video). I'd highly recommend it, because it's probably the best press conference he's done since coming to UK. Very candid and real about the current situation.

I love Mark Stoops. He's a blue collar hard working guy. He doesn't make excuses.
