I believe we want him at DE instead of DT like 247 has him listed.

interesting quote

quote:

"I see the chance to play early at Maryland, and that's something that stands out to me a lot.

Seems like I just read a chat from Matter or someone who said something to the effect that "early play time is important in hoops, but a meaningless factor to recruits in football".

If we stay in the base 4-3, and I imagine we will, I can easily see another LB,(Beisel most likely) moving to DE or playing dual role as MLB and DE. From a coverage and assignment standpoint it shouldn't be any challenge for a LB to handle the DE spot, you just need that "beast" mentality to handle a lot of big uglies in your face and fullbacks headed your way in the run game. The ability to shed blocks is something you need to play anywhere in the box and it doesn't vary greatly. The intensity to get after it in pass rushing is something you have or don't have, but if he want's it, I imagine he'll have a greater opportunity there than at LB, then again Odom or whoever might change up how the D operates, we'll just have to see.

I don't think he said meaningless. It is less important in football in that most players are in school 4-5 years.
Good players in basketball are in school less.
Although at Kentucky that's not the case.

#Mizzou Got Some Big Receivers ????

3* WR Omar Bayless Mississippi

Don't think he has an offer from Mizzou but he's talking about them.

I typically don't log into your chats, Dave, but "meaningless" was definitely implied. I like your reporting, Dave, but when it comes to your opinion, well you're like most of the journalists who decided to write about the kids that beat you up on the playground as child.

Daniel Imatorbhebhe has improved as a player. Went from an 84 to an 87 today at 247. Went from the #36 TE to the #20 TE. It is nice to see a kid improve like that in a week and get recognized for his efforts. LOL

He went from a 5.5 3* to a 5.7 3* on Rivals last week too.

That's why I don't buy too much into these rankings. They, very obviously, pander to the "bigger programs"

Drowning in my decisions..... Top 5 coming soon??

I like what is front and center. Having said that, I imagine that is just coincidence.

I love the timing of Beckner's game. giving him and additional chance to see Mizzou play can't hurt(even if we lose).

What OV's do we know about coming up?

1/30: Beckner
1/23: Marcell Frazier, Tyrell Jacobs, Jared Pinkney

Those are per 247. Any others?
