On Wednesday I got a call from 2014 defensive lineman prospect Cory Thomas of McAdory (Ala.) High School. The lone unofficial visit he has taken thus far is to Auburn to see the Tigers play MSU and he noted he wasn't looking at Auburn too much. He said he is going to Tennessee this weekend and his next unofficial visit will likely be to Mississippi State. He is officially visiting Florida and also Florida State in November, and may officially visit Clemson this fall, too. He said he will then officially visit Tennessee and MSU in January and take the MSU trip as his last official visit. He noted MSU was still his leader followed closely by Tennessee. Then he noted Florida State was gaining ground on Florida for his third favorite spot.

I keep hearing that we have big Cory, and he is just going through the process taking his visits and seeing other schools.
Once we got the commitment from his good friend Braxton Hoyette it pretty much locked up Big Cory.

Don't worry State fans - not a take - be already tried to commit once so you guys will still sign him unless we miss on a few.

But I thought this guy was a true maroon and humble bulldog?
Seriously though, we will have to strike out on Hendrix and Barnett to take him, imo.

I would take him over Barnett any day. He is super underrated

He is underrated, no doubt, but Barnett is very scheme versatile and we are losing 5 DTs after this season. He can play both DT and SDE very well. Plus, he's a Nashville kid. With the way Butch is trying to lock down the state I doubt he would pass on Barnett for Thomas. I'd like to take all 3 but spots are getting tight

That's true about in state. If he is trying to grow roots throughout Tennessee then Barnett is the way to go. I personally feel like cory thomas will show out at the mississippi/ Alabama game this year.

He's gonna be a beast for someone for sure. He is criminally underrated on both 247 and rivals.

Jmo, but I would take Thomas over Mosely

They don't play the same position.

Won't Thomas grow into a DT if he's 270 already?

He's still not the same position though - Mosley will not play south of like 320lbs. So would be used like McCullers.

Ok I got you.
Thomas is a pass rush DT like Malik Jackson, whereas Mosely will play nose tackle like Dan Williams did.
