Saban gonna Saban. I am not concerned when he is lobbying. I missed your answer on how many injury timeouts Lsu took against the Aggies` HUNH last yr.

Of course he does not like it, it is the best way to counter his advantage in talent.

For at least one more year, he is going to have to deal with it.

I hope Tennessee will confirm his deepest fears.

The guy who developed the "warp speed" no huddle concept back in the early 1990's talks at length about how it is intended to fatigue and dehydrate the players on the defense. How that benifits the offense by requiring the D players to have to leave the game due to the fatigue and the added benifit of getting to start your play before the other team is even looking.

Sounds like the purpose was to make it dangerous for the other team.

quote:

• approximately doubles the number of offensive plays you run (assuming you can get first downs) to 80 to 120 depending on where your official game length falls on the 40- to 60-minute spectrum
• fatigues your opponents’ defenses
• dehydrates your opponents’ defense
• lets you compete on stamina, which you can coach, rather than speed, which you cannot coach
• often snap the ball when one or more defenders were looking the other way

If such tactics were not allowed, football would be very boring, with the same teams winning all the time, with no chance for upsets, why would we play the games in such conditions? you have to allow conditions for the underdog to win or nobody would watch.

Nobody wants the favorite to win all the time. If you legislate out the opportunity for the underdog to win, the sport will slowly die.

Brick, I have no issue with the HUNH. I think the other teams just need to figure out how to deal with it (Alabama included) I do have an issue with people pretending the style of play is not designed to put the defensive players in a place where the chance of injury is increased because that is what the guy who started it says it does.

The SEC officials are to pace the game with a 12 sec time laps between the end of one play and the ball being blown live for the start of the next play. So long as the officials are consistent with that rule reguardless of the style of offense being played...its all good.

A&M ran 77.

Half of those were probably in the first quarter. We wouldn't have had to defend that many if we would've stopped them in the first 15-20 minutes of the game.

You're wrong. Don't tell Saban how to do math. If anyone knows how to divide, it's him. Just look what he's done to the LSU fanbase.
