David Pollack just said this on College Football Live. And in response, Paul Finebaum said that this year it is Alabama and A&M.

Finebaum is basically a skip bayless clone

dissent for the sake of dissenting, just because he can

ETA there obviously is some merit there, but you cannot argue with pollack's thesis....there has been no bigger game than lsu-bama the last few years

some people need to understand the difference in 'rivalry' and a 'game'... the best game this year will be A&M/Bama... in recent history, the best game has been LSU/Bama. Just b/c these are great games between great teams doesn't necessarily mean their rivalries.

LSU/A&M has more 'rivalry' potential right now than the other games listed, IMO.

Finebaum also called LSU irrelevant.

It's going to be a mighty fun year boys.

BIggest game -
1. Aggies vs Bama
2. Bama vs LSU

Biggest rivalry -
1. Bama vs AU,
2. Bama vs UT

Skip Bayless is a Finebaum clone, FWIW.

Totally agree.. LSU/Bama has been huge, but LSU/A&M has the potential to really be a good rivalry. The SEC west will be brutal with LSU/Bama/Auburn/A&M all beating the hell out of each other.

No one gives a shite about that game outside of those two fanbases.

I'm reminded of that song that used to play on Sesamee Street:

I don't doubt that, but it does not diminish the rivalry for the programs involved. That is what a rivalry is all about.

Rivalries are born out of hate. The LSU-Bama rivalry was born when Saban accepted the Bama position. And with the recent success of both programs, it's become intensified.

You mean the second biggest rival of Bamas or the second biggest rivalry in college football?

A rivalry is great when it is always a big game no matter the season records or series record.
