Hughes was arrested last month on a domestic violence related charge, his third similar arrest in two years and fifth total arrest for a misdemeanor violent crime. He had been suspended from the football team three times. Hughes filled the role of backup linebacker in 2012.
Chris Hughes was arrested in the Port City last month on a domestic violence charge, and is no longer on the team at MSU.
Mobile Police Corporal Christopher Levy said Thursday that the charge stems from an May 24 incident in which Hughes, 21, is alleged to have struck his girlfriend multiple times in the face. He remains in jail, Levy said.
The Clarion-Ledger reported last week that Hughes had been suspended indefinitely from the team, and MSU spokesman Joe Galbraith said Thursday that he is no longer part of the team.
Hughes (6-1, 215), a Davidson graduate who made 31 tackles as a reserve in 2012, was also arrested twice in Mobile in 2011 on assault and domestic violence charges. He was found guilty on the domestic violence charge and served five days in jail.

6 times the charm under the iron fist of Dan Mullen.

I've got some meat you can put on there for the swelling?

I mean 6 arrests and this is the first one you hear of? Mullen may not run as tight as ship as thought but he sure keeps it quiet.

The previous arrests were common knowledge as well. IIRC, the first one was before he ever reported to campus.

You post a lot about State... btw Germans
ETA: I'm not one to "spin", but he is a no talent Senior who would have never touched the field. This opens up a spot. Glad this tPOS is gone.

He still can't come to terms with us beating them last time they were in Stark Vegas.

Good. I was getting tired of having zero fulmer points every year.
I don't really see how Mullen is supposed to control players while they are at home in Mobile, Al? He's never gotten in any trouble in Starkville to my knowledge...
We've got 8 scholarship seniors this year. In order for us to sign a halfway normal signing class, there's going to be some more attrition...and there isn't many obviously dead weight players left to get rid of either. I imagine this isn't the last story like this that we hear at MSU this year. Just the nature of our roster situation with all the redshirting we've done...

Slow down just a little bit there. I'm not going to defend the guy, domestic violence is domestic violence, but if you find out a little more about his story its been a pretty difficult road given his family life and background.
Also, he's not a "no talent senior" and yes he would have been in the two deep.

only cause of his age- him leaving actually means more reps for Richie Brown and B. Brown. That's better for us

The girl overstated it somewhat, she doesnt know alot so forgive her- but Hughes reps were being eaten into by Richie Brown. Hughes would have had a battle on his hands to stay in the 2-deep behind Skinner
