If we're going to grandfather old rivalries in the name of tradition

Then why not guarantee LSU 2 night SEC home games per year as well?

The time the games are played are largely dictated by the TV now, ESPN wants prime time teams playing in their prime time slots.

Nobody gives a shite how many night games you play. Play them all at night.

The conference mandates to the networks that certian games be played. Why not mandate a few times in there as well?

Honestly, nobody in the conference gives a damn about LSU and their "night game" tradition. Much like AU and rolling a couple trees, it means a lot to the respective fanbase, but no one else really gives two shits.

That doesn't make any sense, we are not affiliated with those institutions, we are affiliated with the SEC.
The SEC dictated to LSU that we would have to eschew our traditions for the good of the conference - and network contract money. We do not have individual school contracts with the networks.
back in the day, we could - and DID - tell the networsks to frick off when they wnated ius to move games to the day time. The 1983 Washington game comes to mind. We can longer do that due to our obligations to the conference.

Now, look. This is something that has been weighing on my mind for a while.
Sometimes, things are hard to hear. But I'm proud of how much you have grown up...and I feel you're man enough now to deal with the hard things in life.
LSU just isn't special, son.
It may hurt to hear, but I think clearing the air is for the best.
Now, go hug your mother and keep making us proud.

The SEC is already giving you a huge break in allowing you to wear your road uniforms at home in sake of "tradition"...
LSU fans need to realize they do not run this conference, are not going to be catered too, and in fact are just another team in the SEC West.

But for some reason our traditions don't matter, while other teams' do.
