Nothing against MA, but I really wish we would've hired Gregg Marshall

He only made it out of the first round of the NCAAT once in his 14 years prior to this one.
CMA has already been to an elite 8. I don't see any reason to think Marshall > MA

Wichita can't be an easy place to recruit. Also I agree with the above, I really like his style of play. He's just one of those guys we could've gotten and passed and now he'll probably end up at UCLA or somewhere and be a badass

UCLA hired Alford today which is lol worthy.

I'm just going to copy/past shite I've already typed out so if it doesn't exactly flow into a coherent message, frick it figure it out, it is accurate info.
6 JC transfers are on Wichita State's roster. Armstead/Chipola, Early/Sullivan, Lufile/Coffeyville, Hall/NW FL, Wiggins/Wabash, Ehimen/Three Rivers
All 3 assistants on Wichita staff have coached at JC level. Heiar HC at Chipola. Jans HC at Chipola and Howard (TX). Turner asst. at Hutch
He is in his 6th season at Wichita State, he had no post season play his first season, then a trip to the CBI, and two trips to the NIT, before he got the program back to the NCAA tournament last year, a first round loss.
The program had went to the NIT 3 times and the the sweet 16 once under Mark Turgeon before he took the aTm job.
So, barring a roster turnover scenario that wasn't feasible due to the APR situation, it is all just theories about whether or not the results the past two years were as good as possible, average, or under-achieving, no matter who the coach was, he wasn't going to come in and be able to change the roster great deal.
Gregg isn't in his 2nd year at WSU, but we could have also bought into the CBI like they did in his 2nd year if we wanted, but we are not 3 years removed from the sweet 16 as a program...

We wouldn't have been any better than past two years, maybe even worse, because Mike's system helped hide our flaws at times.

He'll stay at Wichita St, his salary demands are really, really high. Like Billy D or Pitino high.
