A new starting 5 basically every year and almost all of them are freshman every year. You build no connection with the players through the years because they all leave after their freshman year. It's either boom or bust and this year was a huge bust.

As an Auburn fan I'd take it in a heartbeat, but I'd much rather have a coach like Pitino who consistently competes every year and actually recruits players who stay 3-4 years.

You realize Pitino has underperformed considering what he was paid to do at UofL right? They brought him in to win a championship. That hasn't happened.

And yes, I'm okay with it. I do think this year is the exception far far more then the norm. The 3 previous years say otherwise.

Really, you see what we have coming in next year...and who maybe coming back.

I'll take this ride if we make a major run for the title.

Pitino? You realize his fan base was about to run him out of town until he found a way to the Final 4 last year.

Not getting past the 2cd round of the dance is really not performing besides a couple of runs.

It's like cheering for the Yankees.. who wants to win a title by buying it?

It's so much more fulfilling when a team like the Marlins wins the World Series. It's the same with any title.

Belle is right. This year was a bit of an anomaly. Remember, right or wrong, this team was ranked between #1-#3 pre-season.
No one expected the season to unfold as it did.

With Cal's recruiting approach, this kind of thing will happen once in a while. Next year's group is the best ever, and I think you will see them look more like last year's team than this years team.
As a Kentucky fan, I have faith in Cal's system and how he does things. #9 comes next year.

I would miss out on feeling any connection between a player and the school. It just can't be developed the same way after one year as it is over 4 or 5 years. Having said that, I would give that up to win a NC, much less multiple NC's.

I've never seen so many Kentucky fans. Hmm... It reminds me of the Kentucky Vandy game- Vandy kind of annoys me, but I was cheering for them because y'all were a bubble team. I was cheering very quietly because of the sea of blue around me.

That's just not true though.

Perfect example is Rex Chapman. Played just two years at the University of Kentucky in the late 80s. He is easily a Kentucky fan favorite and a beloved son of the Bluegrass. Another favorite, Jamal Mashburn didn't play a full 4 years either. And those are guys from quite some time back.

I can easily say I'll still feel the same way about Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 10 years from now. They'll always be Wildcats and some of my favs.

John Wall, Cousins, and Knight as well.

You are a player and have success, you will always have a place in Kentucky lure.

When it comes to being a Kentucky fan, I cheer for the name on the front of the jersey not the back. Regardless if they spend 4 years or 1 year I want Kentucky to win championships.

As an Auburn fan do you feel any differently toward your 2010 National Championship considering Cam Newton only played 1 year for your team? No, because you cheer for Auburn not Cam Newton.

Is an Auburn fan really asking if we're happy with an Elite 8, a Final Four, and a National Championship the last three seasons?

To humor you, yes. I'll take this lackluster season... knowing what is coming in next season, absolutely.

That pretty much shut the Auburn OP up!

we'll see their attitudes after another couple seasons... a few more lottery picks with NIT births may change their minds... as it stands now, the man's been to two final fours and has a national championship... hard to argue with the results, even when considering how big a letdown 2013 was.

No one said he sucked, just that's he's underperformed considering what they've paid him to do there. But since it's been brought up, since 2001 he's had two Elite Eights and two Final Fours at Louisville. Along with two NIT bids and a ton of first round NCAA exits.

In just 4 years at Kentucky Calipari has had a National Championship, a Final Four, an Elite Eight, and a NIT bid. I'm not seeing what is so fantastic about Pitino at this juncture that he should be far and away preferred.

Kentucky has always been a much stronger basketball program than Louisville.

It's like Spurrier at South Carolina. It's been a longer process and it's much more difficult to replicate what he did at Florida. All that considered he's done an incredible job.

But I guess you think Spurrier's sucked at South Carolina.

Louisville is easily a Top 5-10 (pending on who you ask) basketball program. Stronger yes, but they're no slouch either.

Apples and oranges. When Spurrier took over at South Carolina they were in far, far worse shape then Louisville Basketball. And once again, where did I say Pitino sucks?
