If you're talking about the number itself I disagree with all but maybe Couch.

If you're talking just the jerseys, as long as they've passed the requirements set out by UK then I don't mind. Only a few of those guys fall under that at this point though.

Couch is in the Ring of Honor. Why retire numbers?

I thought that was replaced by the new ribbon boards?

I think they put their names on the beams on the first floor concourse. You know, where they can't be seen inside the stadium.

I really hate the invasive nature of modern advertising changing sports.

2,763 points
1,525 rebounds
90 points in SEC tourney is still a record
3 time consensus All American
Led the nation is scoring and rebounding

Still no jersey hanging in Rupp

I agree, Valerie Still was the best female basketball player we have ever had, and likely will ever have. She has almost 900 points more than #2, Victoria Dunlap, and she is just ahead of A'dia Mathies.
No question, she should have a jersey hanging in Rupp.
On a side note, her brother Art was one of the best to ever play for UK in football. I've met him and he is a super guy. He gave me a signed UK and KC Chiefs miners helmet. Cool guy.

What about Memorial. Why would we hang her up at Rupp?

How many of the men's jerseys in Rupp actually played there? I think you probably hang it in both for the exposure in recruiting. Kinda tough when Vols take recruits center court in TB and have a whole routine they go through.
