Wish I could say I was a GHS grad, but I got forced to move to VA Freshman year of HS. I still rather claim GHS though. Better academics even though both are blue ribbon schools. And comparing athletics between the 2 schools is like comparing UF athletics to Austin Peay athletics.

Did all this merger mess originate with the combining of the city and county government. I thought at the time that was a bad idea since there are multiple cities in that county

I was class of 99. I got there the year after the tornado forced HHS and GHS to both use GHS for school.

Rossville and Piperton real estate values have increased dramatically the last 3 years as more people flee further East... We have to decide something in the next year or so... I just don't want my little girl to grow up a Tipton/Fayette County skank.

No, doesn't sound familiar. I remember Mr. Shipp, and Coach Witherington III(my favorite)
I really like my Geometry teacher too. Can't remember the name, but I think she was an Ole Miss fan. I met Mrs. P a couple years ago in my bar. She remembered a few of my friends.

She was nice, while on vacation with a couple drinks in her.
I still remember the first question that Coach Witherington asked me when I told him I was moving to Richmond.
"How much land do you have?" Wish I had known then it was 2 and half acres near Bellona Arsenal. I can picture his jaw dropping to floor with that.
He was by far the coolest teacher I ever had. Read an article on him a couple years ago about his metal detecting hobby. Pretty cool

As for the pharmacy, I thought it was kind of right in the middle facing the train tracks, but it has been over 15 years, so I could easily be wrong

We have 2 girls, so I get what you mean. We live in Arlington on the Fayette County side, so have had to do private school. It's not too bad and your property taxes are low.

Funny how a thread started to bash Memphis now has me missing it. I had planned to drive up a couple years ago, but the floods were just getting to Memphis, and I live 2 blocks from the river here. I couldn't leave my dog with my old roommate who doesn't have a car, not knowing if we would have issues here. At least I was able to get Central BBQ down here at the French Market food fest last year
