We honestly have the potential to average 50+ a game. With all of our talent on offense we should score 4 out of every 5 drives. Thoughts

With our 2x NC qb, best receiving corps in the nation, best stable of backs in the nation, 2 veteran lineman, best MLB in the nation, best safety in the nation and a host of d-lineman and lbs we should be virtually unstoppable.

45 PPG. People forget that A.J. was never really the same after the Mississippi State game when he got hurt. He was wildly inaccurate at times for the rest of the regular season. I see A.J. playing at a much higher level next year with the passing attack being very explosive. They also don't play that many good defenses next year. LSU's losing a ton on defense and Texas A&M is losing five of their top six tacklers and every player who had at least two sacks for them in 2012. There's no Florida, Georgia, or South Carolina on the schedule. The defenses on Bama's schedule will be weaker than it was last year. I don't see any defenses out there capable of slowing Bama's offense down.

Doesn't mean Bama's gonna average 50+ a game. Bama's still in the SEC for instance 2010 team.

These guys don't play offense.

All this being said IMO Bama has the chance to go 12-0 but could go 11-1 or 10-2 it just depends on the team showing up and playing 110% every game.

We will have a much better defense so I dont expect the offense to become explosive.

Teams averaging 50 points in college football:

2012: 1 team. La Tech (51.50)

2011: 0 teams. Closest was Houston.

2010: 0 teams. Closest was Oregon.

2009: 0 teams. Closest was Boise State at 42 points a game.

Alabama isn't going to average anywhere close to 50 points a game - that's laughable really. First, the SEC plays very good defense. Second, Alabama, even with an improved passing attack, is still going to be largely a ball control offense, not a quick strike or hurry up offense that lends itself to video game numbers. Alabama runs clock. Finally, Alabama will absolutely sit on leads, pull starters, and not score much if at all in the 4th quarter of games, just like last year.

We might average that in bball
:rimshot:

But Bench makes a good point about not facing many good defenses. We should be right around 40 ppg which will be more than enough IMO. We're capable of having a higher average but CNS will always call the dogs off in blowouts.

While next years team, IMHO, will have the best group of skill players ever at Alabama we still have to see how the oline comes together to determined if it will be the best offense ever at Mama. Given all of that there's no way we will average 50pts per game. Don't think it will even be close: somewhere in the upper 30's is the ceiling based on the type of offense we run, the philosophy of Coach Saban to control the clock. I think we will open up the playbook and be a very explosive offense but still will play ball control and work the clock.

At first, I thought it was a bball thread, and it wasn't until after a few responses did I realize it was actually about football.

With that out of the way, I think we will average about 38 ppg. We will put up big numbers against shitting teams, but better teams will slow us down a tad. Also, our offense is not so much about scoring tons of points as much as it is about controlling the pace of the game. We don't run the type of offense that will allow us to have a 50+ ppg kind of year.

ETA: I completely forgot to mention we pull starters early and don't run up the score too much.
