This question was asked on the rant but no serious answers were given so I thought I'd come here and try it out.

So we are supposedly 9th in the country in revenue and are broke. What is this cause of this? Is it really as simple as still paying the coaches we have fired? Or is it bc of other things? It may be the buyout situation but I have a hard time believing that alone is the cause

We have paid out 9-10 million in buyouts. Recruiting expenses and budget are highest in the country. We were giving the University 6 million per year. Season tickets are down, and then debt service on Neyland Stadium upgrades, etc. There is also some city/county tax that UT has to pay to Knoxville/Knox country that other SEC schools do not have to pay. Basically the city and University were still getting their cut as season ticket sales have been declining the last few years.
