Sounds like a hybrid of both.

Looks like a nice write-up on him.

I agree with everything that was said in the article. He's not an NFL coach, he's strictly college.

But let's also forget the Dolphins were 4-12 the year before Saban arrived, went 9-7 his first season, 6-10 the next, and then 1-15 the year after he left.

And that 6-10 season was chalk full of injuries on the offensive side of the football.

That article has been written multiple times. What a hack. I hope he at least changed some words around.

The article makes (some) good points. Saban's philosphy does not translate well to the NFL. But who cares? It obviosly works in the college ranks.
But are you seriously trying to defend his NFL record? I agree that he wasn't a complete failure, but he was by no means successful.

At any rate, the bottom line is that Saban will most likely retire at Bama. That is unless you ever hear him say "I will not be the Head Coach of Cleveland."

15-17 is most definitely NOT successful but most people agree he was only a Drew Brees away from a successful season in 2006. But considering the success the Dolphins had the year before he arrived and the success they had the year after he left, I think he did alright.

Thought this would generate more comment when I posted it this morning - maybe it was too early. Or maybe nobody gives a crap.

Sabans 1st 2 years in the NFL were better than belichicks. And saban never got fired. Actually, sabans 15-17 record his 1st 2 years ranks dead middle out of all active NFL coaches.
