Bob Stoops: Johnny Football is better than Vince Young and Tim Tebow

And his brother Mike agrees with him.

It was the 26th time Manziel scrambled for a first down on third down this season and was the type of athletic play he's made commonplace. Just ask Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, who said Manziel is the best quarterback he's coached against.
"Absolutely," Stoops said. "Because of not only throwing the football, what he does with his feet is just incredibly difficult to handle."
Manziel became the fourth consecutive Heisman Trophy winner -- Mark Ingram, Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III -- to win their ensuing bowl game. But his performance may have been the most impressive. He set an FBS-record for rushing yards in a bowl game by a quarterback with 229. And he nearly became the second FBS player to throw for 300 yards and rush for 200 yards in a game, finishing with 287 yards through the air.
Former Dallas Cowboys VP of player personnel and senior NFL.com writer Gil Brandt tweeted afterwards, "Best performance by [a] player I've ever seen."
The Aggies came out of the locker room nursing a slim, one-point lead. But from the start of the third quarter, Manziel was nearly infallible. In four consecutive drives to start the half, A&M scored four touchdowns, covering 325 yards in just 27 plays.
He made perfect downfield throws to Ryan Swope and Uzoma Nwachukwu. And he continued to keep the OU defense on its heels with highlight-reel runs whenever he could break containment on the edge.
He was the catalyst for turning a competitive game into a laugher, answering any and all questions about the Heisman Trophy winner's readiness in the leadup to the season's finale.
Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops, who has been in the coaching business since 1986, heaped some lofty praise on Manziel in the postgame news conference.
"[He's the] best player I've ever played," Stoops said.
And he still has three more years of eligibility.

His interception was probably one of his best plays. Dude just dropped it.

He is really good, but he will be crucified if he does not exceed this year.. It's either Natty or bust.

I made a statement to this effect in the game thread. I think we will start comparing Tebow and Cam to JFF. This guy took over games like those two but he also did it with less talent around him overall. This guy will be a guy when we get older will talk like they do the 4 Horseman, Grange, Bo, Herschel etc.

Agreed, if that guy catches it I feel like it would have been better than his "heisman" moment vs Bama.

I need to watch it again, but I'm pretty sure he rolled right and spun to his right to do a 360 and then threw a perfect pass with his right hand immediately coming out of the spin. Never seen anything like that. A QB coach would chew anyone else out for even trying that, this kid does shite like that every few plays.

Was watching the game with some friends and we were all stunned on how perfectly he threw that pass after all that running and spinning, hopefully theres a gif or vid floating around soon showing it.

When it was picked, I was like that was dumb! Then I saw the replay and I was like HOLY shite!!!

If the receiver catches it Manzeil goes for 516 yards of offense, 5 TD's, 0 int.

I know this sounds dumb, but I can see JFF getting the Flutie treatment in the NFL. In many ways he reminds me of him. He just wins and does shite that is unexpected.

His time at shortstop is what enables him to make those throws.

Damn, I guess everyone should recruit a shortstop then.

Nah you just have to wait and see who Mack brown recruits as a safety. Then you recruit em as your QB: instaheisman.

I was impressed with Manziel when we played them and it was obvious he was special then...threw short passes only...a couple of long ones were incomplete...so his downfield range isnt great but who cares? He is uncanny in the ability to escape pass rushers and take a 5 yd loss and run for 15 yds....his short to moderate range passes are darts and on target...he deserved the Heisman hands down...no one close to his ability.
The funny thing is that he doesnt look like a major college football player...looks like Joe average you'd see dirt bike riding or hanging out playing video games.

Less talent around him than Cam?

Cam had two NFL first round lineman... Don't be jelly.
