It's clearly a play on Notre Dame being the Irish. The t-shirt maker is not even a Bama fan (LINK /), they are some graphics company trying to make money.
I can probably guarantee they would have made this shirt with ANYONE playing ND in the BCS NC game. Let's be real here. It's not like a Bama fan had this shirt personally designed and printed.
