An interesting phenomenon I've noticed this week

The more ND gets talked up during these awards, the more posters on the SEC rant are changing their allegiance from ND to Bama.
I bet if a lot of these posters went and read a ND board, there would be even more of them convert. They talk so much shite against the SEC its not even funny. I dare say, if they spent 10 minutes on one of their boards, the whole SEC rant would convert sans AU fans and a few of the more obsessed LSU fans.

By the time New Year's rolls around I would imagine that pretty much everyone except the most asshurt LSU and Auburn fans will have converted.
People don't understand just how much the national sports media is in the bag for Notre Dame. Their obsession with SC and Ohio State pales in comparison for their love of all things Notre Dame. The absolute worst thing that could happen for college football is Notre Dame coming back.
ETA: To clarify...it would be bad for CFB because 11 wins for ND would result in a NCG appearance every year. It would become SEC champ v. ND almost every time. The Pac 12, Big 10, ACC, and Big 12 would all die.

It's nothing short of a media circle jerk for the Irish. I've heard 100 times the last week from analysts about how "it's good for college football when ND is good"

Yeah the delusion of the Notre Dame fan base is top of the food chain. I stopped reading after some dude on Irish Envy said Everett Golson is better than Charlie Ward

A week ago it seemed like a lot of posters were still in their "I hate Bama" mode. I've seen some of those posters begin to change their mind with the media onslaught.

I'd not be surprised to see NBC air a special "Christmas at the Kellys'" show this year.

Its only going to get worse too. I kind of like it. Even though we are the clear favorite in the betting world we aren't going to get media love. It might put a chip on our shoulder and make us come out looking to make a statement.

To be fair, we're Alabama. When people think of the two best programs in CFB history, they think of us and ND. Now, we're not getting near as much love as they are, but we do get a lot of media love too sometimes.
