All Freshman SEC was announced today. Ryan Kelly of Alabama was announced as the 1st team center even though half the people have never heard of him and the other half think he red-shirted.

Did this really need its own thread? Every Alabama fan in the "All-SEC Freshman team announced" thread said that Kelly played rarely. It's a freshmen team. Most of the kids on the team don't even start. Don't get so bent out of shape.

Perhaps your hostility should be tempered by the fact that this team was chosen by SEC coaches and you could not vote for your own players. Kelly was selected for the honor by the 13 coaches other than Saban.
There probably aren't any Freshmen starting at center in the SEC, thus a back-up who receives playing time wins the award..
