Do you think, perhaps, we could enforce a pretty simple OT rule?

If you're going to show chicks (or dudes for that matter, DC) in bikinis or lingerie, have the common courtesy to include a NSFW tag in the title. Not everyone is still in college/self-employed/etc.

See, now there's the real problem.

Won't find me arguing with you, but reality is reality. And 99% of us, I'm guessing, do answer to/will answer to a boss.

I totally understand and think you have a good idea here. It's already the norm in other areas of the board so hopefully folks will be quick to adopt.

But - you know, if you've got any brilliant ideas on how I can get out of the corporate grind and move to Spain while making a shite-ton of money off of the internet, I'm all ears!

I actually got a raise and promotion yesterday (yay me), but I'd still kill to be my own boss. One of these days.

Congrats on the raise/promotion.

This is half the reason I am in academia. It is very rare that someone tells me what to do. Never I am I told what to research or teach which, other than a meeting here and there, comprises about 95% of the job. Still, if you figure the Spain deal out let me know.

This is my plan as well.

The best I've come up with is to work in logistics/shipping. Barcelona's seaport is the 6th largest in the world. Problem is, to be able to get a visa to live and work in Spain, you first are required to deposit a minimum of 110K Euro in a Spanish bank. Putting money into the spanish banking system is the last thing a sane person would do anytime soon.

I was ready to lock and stock GTF out of here about this time last year when I found out just how inexpensive it is to live in Barcelona relative to major cities here. The economy is real crap over there though, and they have some standard discriminatory hiring policies the require hiring natives.

Hell hanging out on the beach and selling t-shirts and personal sun screen application services sounds like a winner to me.

Its starting to get annoying having half naked bitches pop up in every thread.

I need a reasonable travel time to Lausaunne. They're building high speed rail to get from Zurich to Barcelona in under 3 hours. 2nd option would likely be Germany, but I dig Catalan chicks.

Morocco is just a short 45 minute ferry ride away from them...

Haha - yeah, this is actually part of my longterm plan. I've started trying to learn some internet marketing (launched one website in a pretty specialized niche - hopefully it'll earn me a few hundred a month to start). If I can come up with enough decent sites, I'd be willing to go at it full time.

Dropshipping seemed interesting too. Haven't read up on it much, yet, but definitely something I could do from anywhere.

That might not be the case anymore...Supposedly they're about to pass a law that will give foreigners residency (not citizenship or a work visa, but at least you could stay longer than 90 days) if they bought property for more than $200K.

So if you could put together a job that was entirely e-based, you could go buy a Spanish villa for pennies on the dollar, stay indefinitely, and have access to all of Europe/the Mediterranean.

That's my goal, anyway. You can get some pretty awesome country houses with 10+ acres, full of olive/almond trees around Valencia. It'd be nice to get that work visa, though. Maybe after their economy recovers (i have no doubt it will, which is why I'd like to buy property there now).

Come on guys, take a chance on Africa. There's way more than 10 acres available.

Hey, I like boobies too.

You're right. Let's try to spread the word.
