We earned bragging rights by spreading our national championships across 4 teams in 5 years. That is conference dominance, but if Bama wins it all this year, this is about team dominance. Hats off to Alabama for proving that they stand alone as the elite SEC team, but as far as I'm concerned, other SEC fans don't have the right to claim SEC domination by piggybacking off the accomplishments of one team.

Yes, I believe we are clearly the best conference, but to me, the source of my SEC pride is now the fact that we have 6 Top Ten teams competing for the championship, not that one team has won 3/4 years.

Let Bama enjoy their impressive accomplishments after they beat Notre Dame, but if you're a fan of another SEC team, don't chalk this one up to the conference. One team winning championships doesn't make a conference.

Well OP, your post is not correct the reason SEC teams are battled tested and hard to beat for big games is because of our conf. brethen. Yes, bama is on a streak right now but it will end and I believe UF,LSU,A/M,vols,Auburn, and UGA will be back and tough to beat. JMO

Thanks. I'm sure it will plummet to page two or become an LSU-Bama bashfest though

When you really think about it, Florida had Tebow (though in 06 he wasn't the starter), Auburn had Cam Newton, and LSU was the only one who didn't have one of the best players in CFB history. Then there is Bama. Going for 3/4. Good post TC.

Certainly, we make each other better, but how long can LSU, UGA, and other SEC teams keep patting themselves on the back for helping prepare Bama for the big one?

It's easy for Bama fans to agree with this

It seems the Bama folks are the only ones on the board after last nights game, but I'd like to get some responses from other SEC fans. This is really directed at them.

For selfish reasons I probably agree, but I think the bottom line is a Bama victory or loss shouldn't be viewed as being that vital in determining the success of the whole SEC.
