Vandy bowl options

All I've really seen is Vandy going to the Music city bowl. I personally hate that for them because I think this team deserves to get away and travel. What are ya'lls thoughts?

Holding out hope for Gator or Chik-fil-A, but I think they are long shots at best...

Aschoff says the "Always Closed on Sundays" Bowl!

That would be amazing. I posted something similar to this on Vandy Mania last week, but no one thought South Carolina would drop that far. I still have a hard time believing it.

Of course, last week's projections had us either against Wisconsin in the Gator or VTech in the Music City.

I'd be happy with any of these games. The only team we'd clearly be better than is VTech, who's having a big down year.

I would love for Vandy to go to the Chick fil A bowl. Great venue, close enough for travel but enough away for the team to have a great time.

The only bowl option I would travel to see unless Music City had really low cost seats.

FWIW,

Bowl announcement party this Sunday according to the VU email

The celebration will take place on Sunday, Dec. 2, in the Commodore Ballroom in the Student Life Center and will feature the Spirit of Gold marching band and Vanderbilt Cheer and Dance. Doors will open at 6 p.m. in preparation for the announcement event at 7 p.m. You may park in the 25th Ave. Garage located at the corner of 25th Ave. and Highland.

Music City Bowl.

I hope this is what Coach Franklin and the team wanted.

It'd be hard to say that this is what they wanted, but I don't think they'll be disappointed because the support should be great.

If asked three years ago which bowl in 2012 most of us would have replied with anything above the toilet bowl. I'm good with Music City Bowl as it's another small step towards our destination. All about the process.

Well, sure. As a fan there's no doubt that we should be happy with whatever bowl we end up with. We've been through the dark times enough to know that any bowl is worth celebrating.

I'm just saying I think CJF and the players had their sights set on a nice road trip with the 8-win season. As they should have.

re: Vandy bowl options

It's the first post-expansion bowl season. I've spent enough time complaining about the bowl allotment, but I have come to terms. With two new teams, what Vandy essentially did was move up one to two spots. In a year with so many great teams at the top, we would typically only have advanced one spot in the bowl selection. With A&M's addition and great start, we essentially treaded water. I'm not upset about it, and Franklin is probably happier about the players coming together through the season than any bowl selection. We are going to a bowl, and as long as the fans show up to cheer for this team and to show our support, it doesn't matter where the bowl is.
