Any idea why your coaching staff didn't watch the film of LSU laying the blueprint on how to beat A&M?

Or did they and your defense just wasn't as good as once claimed to be?

Ill hang up and listen.

Alabama's linebackers were too fat and slow to do what LSU did on defense.

They played two tough games this year. Squaked by the first and lost the second.

Talk about overrated...

They don't have the pass rush to pressure JFF without blitz packages

It wasn't the Defense that cost Bama the game, it was the Offense.

1. 21-17
2. We made the adjustments to contain JFF and played well after that. It was just 20-0 by that point.
3. Offensive play calling particularly on the final drive was bad.
4. Turnovers hurt us.

Yeah giving up three straight TD drives to open the game was part of the gameplan.

This is actually a good question. Unfortunately there might be a lot of flames but:
3 or 4 man pass rush, maintaining lanes and dropping 7/8 in coverage held JFF to 19 and 17 points respectively in UF and LSU games. Coach Saban tried a pressure/make JFF make quick decisions which garnered him 29 points. Hindsight is 20/20 but it was interesting, different tack.

How did that happen?

Did your coaching staff not watch LSU-aTm film?
