This is a really, really good freshman class

I"m starting to think that last year's class isn't as good as some of the sunshine pumpers made it out to be. Minor is very avg, Cook and smoothers aren't really all that impressive, there are no linebackers, fisher will never play, minor is meh, funderburke is gone, walker will never start over williams. though mitchell, gaines, flowers and allen seem to be very solid
but this class, i can already tell this class is going to make some serious noise once it's all said and done. Hines might seriously be our best cornerback and I love tevin mitchell. hines will hit you and he knows how to cover. Peters and Turner will be playing on sundays when it's all said and done. Williams is very very legit, and holmes while being over shadowed is very good and very fast. McKay and hatcher are studs.
i really like this class alot which is at the end of the day i think we are going to be okay. we get the right coach that can coach allen and can develop our o line play we will be cooking with gas. the defense in 2 years IMHO will be the best defense the hogs have put on the field in a long time.
we aren't even playing guys like JaMichel Winston and Phleon
in a way this season long term was the best thing that could have happened for us. i remember 08. it fricking sucked lol. every game knowing you are going to get slaughtered. but we got our young guys a ton of experience and by the time they were juniors they were a BCS team

There is definitely talent all over this roster, the problem is they don't have the coaching that previous teams have had. We get a coach in here that can coach and develop talent we'll be just fine, Petrino didn't leave the cupboard bare whatsoever.

You can't judge guys like Cook and Smothers. Their coaching is shite. Literally, shite. Klenakis is terrible. He has taken two NFL linemen in Swanson and Bailey and pretty much made them a guarantee to be back for their senior years.
There is talent on that roster. There is 8-9 wins next year with a new coach.
Outsiders only look at what we are doing now. This program isn't the shite storm some would lead you to believe.

I want to believe that Cook and Smothers are victims of poor coaching and will turn out to play at the level we all expected them too coming out of high school.

They could be better. With that said they are true sophmores. they will be better next year and hopefully get someone to explain the scheme to them better. Our Oline has regressed since petrino came into the program. Say what you will about Nutt but he could put together an oline every few years.

I agree on the o line play and i have said the same thing on hogville
i refuse to beliee that Bailey, Swanson, Cook, Smoothers, Beck and Stringer are ALL misses lol. that's 2 freshman first team all americans, a 4 star, a 5 star and ahighly regarded 3 star, that are all misses.
i will give them the benefit of the doubt utnil we get a new coach and they suck under them as well.
