Alabama's final, game-winning drive.

I understand that the LSU fans are saying they were playing loose, but from what I saw, there were plenty of LSU defenders in place to make a play:
1st play, pass to Norwood, 2 LSU defenders within 5 yds, perfectly placed ball and Norwood drives forward for YAC.
2nd play, pass to Norwood, leaping catch over a defender who was right on him, great catch by Norwood.
3rd play, diving sideline pass to Norwood.
4th play, deep pass to Norwood, incomplete, 3 defenders around Norwood.
5th play, Screen to Yeldon for the winner!
Look at LSU's D setup, their outside corners were playing well off, but their slot defenders were within 5yds of the LOS. And on each pass they had people in position to defend it....bottom line is, our boys made the plays when it counted and they didn't.
Roll Tide!

I have been questioning that all day. I was drunk as shite by then so my memory of everything but Yeldon's TD catch is admittedly pretty hazy, but I could have sworn that they weren't playing prevent. I mean they were in straight man and blitzed on that screen. That is NOT prevent defense in any way, shape, or form.

Well their outside corners were playing well off the ball, but the guy we went to, Norwood, was in the slot and was covered, he and AJ just made the plays.

Not in prevent. Last play was a blitz.

I may have had multiple heart attacks that last drive

They weren't in prevent, that's just an easy excuse for them to justify that final drive.

That's what I am attempting to diffuse, LSU fans are screaming that's what happened, but when you sit down and look at it rationally, only their outside DB's were playing loose.

Honestly, it's not worth arguing.
At the end of the day Alabama walked away the victor. Let them have the moral victories, we'll take the real one.

I just had a minute so I went and watched a Youtube video of that drive. LSU was NOT in prevent. Their DBs were right up on the LOS for all but 1 play. They blitzed 3 times. They were playing aggressive defense. Norwood, AJ, and Yeldon just made big plays.
