Serious question. What rule did Fanning break with his suplex

Tackle? I'm not doubting it was illegal, I just wonder what rule was broke.

IMO, he didn't. Just a pup who was fired up and got too excited. Hopefully he knows now that type of play can really injure a guy,not just "hitting him hard".

You're not gonna let this go are you? He didn't break a rule but the guy could've had a serious neck injury.

Just a judgment by the official that it was unnecessarily rough. Not a specific technical rule about that kind of tackle.

poor form.. should have lifted w/ his legs and not his back... he could have herniated a disc in his lower back.

You have to do the Hogan walk following the suplex, else it is not legal. Chained suplexes are the obvious exception, in the case of this occurrence you must follow with the Flair walk after completion of the chain.

I hope you never bitched about Fairley being dirty.
Nevermind. I hope you did. Just to prove how big a hypocrite you truly are.

Probably just a general unnecessary roughness - which is a judgment call anyway.
We're still trying to figure out what the flag is when a (and we freely admit this) VERY aggressive safety really, really, really wanted to decapitate a USCe receiver out of bounds, but merely brushed him, is a penalty.
(In all fairness, the kid is not mean-spirited or discriminating in any way - in one of his first practices at LSU he nearly decapitated a teammate....his cousin.)

He should win an award for his behavior.

that was bullshite. They basically through a penalty for something that could have happened, but never did.

This.
I was much more concerned with Fanning's health than that of the running back.

It was a dick move by a freshman who got too excited. I'm glad he was flagged for UR, and I hope he spends time with S. Cochran as punishment.
Also, he broke the 11th commandment.
"Thou shalt not bruise the vulva of the most non-SEC team in the SEC. They like baseball more than football, for the love of Me."

No doubt it was a dick move, even Fairleyesque, which is disgraceful.
It reminded me of a tackle a teammate of mine made in Jr. High right in front of the opposing teams bench. We had an undersized CB who dove feet first into the ball carriers legs as he turned the corner up the sideline, he just wiped the guy out. It was like a water boy move. Their coach went nuts, but the ref told him it was a legal tackle.
