For all the orgasms that a lot of Arkansas and Auburn fans are having over the prospects of Charlie Strong, why is Sonny Dykes not being discussed?

Personally, I think Sonny Dykes could win a national title at a program like Auburn minus having to go out and purchase a quarterback to get it done.

His disregard for defense makes this really unlikely

I mean, even BP respected having a defense more than Dykes

Dykes is a Leach without the pirates and shed.

That being said, Dykes pays even less attention to defense than Leach or Petrino.

No defense. Absolutely none. I think LA Tech is giving up an average of 50 points a game.

No defense means no SEC rings and I thought the whole object was to play for championships? You gotta play SOLID defense and run the ball to win the SEC or do not pass GO and dont collect 100.00

What is this? Is this what happens when I open a thread calling Bama the team to beat?

Yea, you cannot win in the SEC and not play defense (unless you have Cam and Malzahn).

Dykes would be much better suited in the Big 12 or even a eastern Pac 12 team like Colorado or Arizona.

Perhaps Kentucky will give him a chance then. I'm not sold on Charlie Strong being anything beyond mediocre in the SEC. Which is why in excited about Auburn or Arkansas hiring him. Feel like either school could do much better. They certainly could do much worse but he doesn't really do much for me.

I figured Holgorsen might start getting some love too sans yesterday's exposure. He's like Dykes too with no defense.

Why Strong?

1) I think most want a defensive minded head coach

2) He looked good as a defensive coordinator at Florida

3) He has Louisiville winning

4) He is from Arkansas

5) Very good recruiter

I would be happy with either one but I like Sonny Dykes way better, just give him a few million for an
elite DC.

He's pretty much a Holgreson clone imo.

Would prefer a guy like Strong or Taggert who isnt finesse and wants smash mouth football, but Dykes wouldnt be the worst back up option
