I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I think the rule is played in less than 30% of games.

4/14 is less than 30%

4/13 is more than 30%

So does this mean if UGA makes the SECCG (thus 14 games) he could get it, but if they don't (thus 13 games) he could not get it?

I think he's played too much at this point.

This has been a really tough year with injuries for everyone all around.

The percentage is for the regular season only.

I think it's regular season games. Post season won't count towards it.

He played in 5 games so he isn't eligible.

A special case involves the eligibility of a player who loses the majority of a season to injury. Popularly known as a medical redshirt, a hardship waiver may be granted an athlete who appears in fewer than 30% of his or her team's competitions (with none coming after the midway point of the season)

Oh well.

Also forgot he has played in 5 games, so clearly doesn't matter anyway.

Fortunately for Bennett he will still have 2 years of eligibility left after this season. He should also have plenty of time to recover and rehabilitate before the 2013 season starts.

Did he ever redshirt? I think sometimes they'll let you use your redshirt in cases like this. May be wrong though.
