It seems like his actions happened years ago. If he is convicted of some criminal act such as civil liberties violation, shouldn't everyone in the establishment at the time be arrested as co-conspirators?

Only the ones misbehaving on Bourbon Street should be arrested. This has frivolous written all over it. Not defending but come on, New Orleans, Bourbon Street.

nc14, I am probably in the minority of the LSU fans on this matter. While I don't agree with Downing's actions, I wish it could have been resolved in some other manner without going to court.

Hugo, glad to see you basically have the same opinion as I do. If I was the "victim", would not want this trial. Just tell me where Downing lives and I will take care of the matter in my own time and my own way.

Oh, he was wrong, very wrong for sure.

This would never have gone to Court if LSU would have won.

are you fricking retarded?

Beer Bryant - I have to agree with you because the "victim" indicated that he was drinking heavily because LSU was getting beat. If LSU had won, he probably would not have been in that situation?

You sound excited. Are you the dumbass that passed out on Bourbon Street after being ditched by your girlfriend?

New Orleans has plenty other things they need to be worrying about other than a guy putting his nutts on some sleeping fatass.

And coming from a school that castrated a bull to motivate the team. One of these acts was direct affiliation and one indirect. Both wrong and so far no one has said otherwise.

stat19....show me where in my posts I sound excited. If you actually read my posts, if you knew how to read, you would see that I am not in favor of this trial.
I thought you had gone the way of chiild, but unfortunately, guess I am wrong. You ever make it to an Alabama game yet?

Nah, he would've been drinking heavily after an LSU win too.

I think the New Orleans taxpayer dollar could be spent on a hell of a lot better things than this trial. But that's just me.

lc4,
he was offered a 2-year prison sentence, which was turned down. He's now looking at 10 years. The DA could have gone after 25 years.
Imo, this situation is no different then what goes on inside frat houses during rush week. Downing should get a hefty fine and years of commuity service.
