I've heard the name before but know next to nothing about him. The interview he had with Chris Low was eyeopening. It's amazing that he battled through bone cancer in his youth. He seems like a bright kid and exudes maturity (probably from going through cancer).
Is he one of UT's leaders? I would be surprised if he wasn't.
Also interesting to note, after doing some research, is that he's from Baton Rouge, Scotlandville HS (never heard of the school). Sorry if Germans, :inb4:, :csb:, etc. What more is there to know about him in his fight with cancer and his maturation from that struggle to being an SEC football player?

Awesome guy and should be a good football player and probably our best leader for us this year. Hope he stays healthy. If he wants he may be able to get a 6th year of eligibility next year.

Great thread
Herman Lathers is THE leader of UT this year. He actually suffered a season ending injury last year, but is close to 100% this year.
He will need to stay healthy for the morale of this defense. Also, there is a chance he gets a med redshirt for last year and can come back this next year. I believe it is less than 50% at this point, but there is a chance.
