| Rueben Randle in the 1st round? (Posted on 4/25/12 at 10:32 pm)
I hadn't heard his name mentioned much in the last few weeks but it seems like he now has a good shot of going in the first round. I'm thinking Cleveland takes Randle with either their 22 (a reach but possible if the Baylor receiver is gone) or early 2nd round at worse with their 37 pick. I've also heard that Randle to San Fran at #30 is a strong possibility. That would give LSU three 1st round picks in a year without many draft eligible players which is really impressive.

I hope we don't take him at 22, but would really like him at 37. Or Alshon.

Texans could take him at 26. I don't think its that far fetched he goes late in round 1

I would take Rueben Randle over Stephen Hill and Kendall Wright. Justin Blackmon and Michael Floyd are above Randle, but not any others that I've seen. In short, he's a 1st round caliber wide-out to me. However, depending on the team's needs, you could wait for another wide-out (like Alshon Jeffery) to snatch up in the 2nd. I also want to take this time to laugh at GamecockAlum and his 7 alters, because he said you would have to be fricking high to not take Alshon top 10.

The problem with Randle is that it's hard to tell how good he is. LSU's offense and QB play severely hampered how good their receivers could be. Julio Jones, Stephen Hill, and Demaryius Thomas were also hurt by their offense but they were all 6-3, 6-4 receivers with sub 4.4 speed. Randle just doesn't have that kind of speed where teams are willing to draft him high in the draft just because of his physical tools.

I'm pretty tuned into what the Browns are going to do and I would be shocked if thy took him s 22. I think there is a better chance the Browns trade that pick.

I really wish RR would have come back so he could have a chance to really shine when he finally got to play with a real qb. Les Miles might have abused RR worse than he did kw or worse than jj did him.

If you can keep Alshon thin he can be a dominant #1 WE.

Randle is faster than people give him credit for. He is a long strider. But yeah his strengths are route running. He is an excellent route runner

I agree, but that's a difficult task. It's hard to risk a 1st round pick on a guy that's unreliable.

he's a first round talent for sure.he just never had a qb here. good route runner, the only knock on him is he sometimes takes plays off. can't blame when he's asked to be a perimeter o-lineman
