For bama to have a rematch Stanford and OSU must lose a game. Stanford's most likely loss will come form Oregon next week.

Here is the question... If Oregon beats Stanford and wins the Pac-12 championship game why would Bama get a rematch with LSU over Oregon? They would both be 1 loss teams coming at the hands of LSU but Oregon's was at a neutral site in the season opener instead of at home in November. Also, Oregon would have won their conference which is important to some voters. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and how the media influences voters the first week of December.

The dispute would be the margin of the victories. People will bash me for this, but I believe rematches are illogical. If both OSU and Stanford lose, it should be Boise State. If LSU remains undefeated, which is not given, and wins the SEC Title game, why would they play Alabama, again. It would be illogical. LSU won in Alabama. That was the corridor to earn your way into that game. If there was a rematch, then the Game of the Century would have been for not. What is the point of playing the game if it has no meaning. Basically, you are penalizing LSU because we would have to play an extra game and be at an increased risk of losing the opportunity while Alabama would be at home...that would be wrong IMO.

And to be clear, if you look at all my posts, I am clear on this, NO team should play for the national title if they can't win the conference. Also, we have no way of proving the SEC is light years ahead of other conferences. It's wrong to assume this....see Michigan, Ohio State and Florida in 2006.
