yes I know it's not offseason, but I figured it would be a break from the Bama-LSU flame fest.

My teams best 2006 - Bowe, Doucet, Davis, Lafell

Overall best - gonna go homer and pick LSU 2006.

If randle comes back maybe. I don't really follow recruiting, and Shepard is a bust, so that leaves Randle and OBJ, idk, I'd still take the 2006 group.

If Randle comes back next years groups will be better. Randle, OBJ, Jarvis Landry, and shep with another year to learn the position.

Not sure I would put him there yet, but he definitely shows promise.

Auburn 2005 had 4 receivers with 100 career receptions on it at the same time.

Of the groups that Bama has faced, I'd hafta agree with the '06 LSU group slightly over this year's Hog WRs. The biggest difference in defending them was LSU had a legit run threat so you couldn't focus on the receivers. If Arkansas could run the ball at all maybe they'd move up in my mind. But both groups are tough 1 through 4.

02 Georgia had Terrence Edwards (SEC record holder despite people who think he sucks), Fred Gibson, and Reggie Brown. Ben Watson was the tight end.

Not the best in the SEC over the time frame but pretty doggone solid and definitely our best.

Last year, Arkansas had four players with 100+ career catches, although one was a TE

DJ Williams (TE), Joe Adams, Jarius Wright, Greg Childs

This year, Adams has reached 147, Wright has 146, and Childs, hampered by his knee, has only reached 121.

We also have Cobi Hamilton with 71 career receptions.

LSU has had some really good WR corps so I don't know if Arkansas's could be called the best in 10 years. They're up there though.

true, give him another year and he will be a legit threat, the way i see it.

Bowe > Randle > OBJ(next year) > Davis > Doucet > Lafell > Landry(next year) > Shepard.

Although I think OBJ has the chance to be the best of them.

Edit: forgot lafell

lsu 2001 had josh reed, devery henderson, micheal clayton (although just a fr), jerel meyers (still in the pros) bennie brazell. brazell was never a superstar but he definitely had to be accounted for and is still in the pros. that offense was absolutely torching defenses the second half of the season.

2002 - clayton, meyers, brazell, devery henderson, skyler green who had an awesome td catch/run vs ark.

2003 - clayton, dwayne bowe, brazell, henderson, green, buster davis and the ill fated amp hill

2004 - bowe, lavell hawkins, green, early doucet, brazell, xavier carter. DANG that's some speed.

2005 - brandon lafell, bowe, davis, brazell, carter, doucet, green

2006 has already been covered

2007 - dbyrd, lafell, doucet, terrence tolliver, jared mitchell

'06 and '01 might have had the numbers to be statistically considered among the best. the other groups i listed were formidable. despite what some lsu fans say, jimbo was a very good coordinator and had very good numbers. lsu was usually in the top 3rd offensively

I loved Early Doucet. Very physical.

Didn't he score the TD to tie the game in 2007?

04-05 Auburn has to be in the discussion. Last year's Arky team was pretty incredible too. SC had a good group last year too, but I don't think it was on the level of the other two. I'm sure there are some other teams over the past decade that are up there that just aren't coming to mind right now.

That is a sick lineup. I think their pro careers so far make it seem even better than it was in college.

Tennessee 2012 will be better than 2001.

1. Justin Hunter
2. Da'Rick Rogers
3. DeAnthony Arnett
4. Cordarrelle Patterson
TE. Mychal Rivera

With Bray back, that should be the best receiving corps production wise in school history.
