Hall of Fame Speeches Over the Top ?

Big moment for these guys. I understand that. Some came up from nothing. I understand that. There are sad stories to be told. Understood. What I'm afraid of is that some of these guys (mainly the ones still in media postions) are attempting something more than delivering their message. Ever since Michael Irvin's emotional and poignant address a few years ago, i detect that certain Hall of Famers are trying to top it. I enjoy listening to the stories of those non-media guys who plowed through during their careers. Marshall Faulk's speech was not that bad. But no one can tell me that Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders (both media guys on CBS and NFL Network) did not try to use their media skills to try and top or equal Irvin's speech. just make your point, but save me the dramatics. id on't mind hearing their stories, but i hate that it has become another production in their media acts.

Over the top speeches for sure. I came from nothing and everyone around me had more help, blah blah blah...look how amazing it is that I came from nothing now I'm in the HOF.
Good stories if not told by themselves.

Tell you what....
When you've earned your way into the NFL Hall of Fame, you can write and deliver whatever speech you feel is appropriate.
