Around mid-season the NFL scouts said the Auburn offense did not afford (no pun intended) him the opportunity to check off to enough receivers to tell about his passing ability.

Now, after the past two weeks, what do you think? He was projected third round, has he moved up to a first round draft choice in the NFL?

Newton's going to be drafted a lot earlier than people think. And by a lot earlier, I mean borderline top 10. More than any other position, QBs with a ton of upside always get drafted much higher than where people projected them to go. Factor in his tremendous college production and I see a team with a high draft pick taking a chance on him.

Yea. Newton's a a definite Top 20 pick and maybe even top 10 imo.

I would draft him with a top 10 pick. Absolute worst case scenario you have an elite TE.

he's moved in the bottom of the first round. imo. which is still quite a leap.

i think a team will trade up towards the end of the 1st to get him.

Well, splittimg away from my Alabama fandom and going to my NFL side a bit, it seems to me that Cam Newton has had success with superior physical ability, but the culmination of his off field issues and sometimes his behavior on the sidelines would make me wonder if he could adjust properly, or atleast make a serious atempt. That and the spread would make me want to pick him in the second round.

Maybe he can go late first. Probably go undrafted though, since lockouts are serious right now.

As long as he's not picked by the Saints, I could not care less.

Top 15 maybe top 10 depending on how bad he runs through Oregon's defense.

The way he was able to maintain focus with the circus going on around him makes him a better NFL prospect IMO. His off field issues are a non-factor for NFL consideration (see pacman Jones, Ben the raper, etc., etc., ad nauseum).

He does have superior athletic ability but he also has decent touch and accuracy. He will be an NFL quarterback, drafted in the 1st round.

FWIW After he is drafted, his paycheck becomes legal. Secondly, he is definitely going first round now, if not before this week. He has underestimated pro potential as well as marketability.

6'5 250 pounds with great arm talent and better feet. That's first round lock and top 10 (every day of the year). He's a better pro prospect than some of these recent first round picks: Joe Flacco, Josh Freeman, Brady Quinn, Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Jamarcus Russell, Jason Campbell, Grossman, Tim Tebow.

He's a bigger and more athletic Donovan Mcnabb (franchise qb).

For those who doubt, look at the qbs who are taken with 2nd round picks (Kellen Clemens, Pat White, colt McCoy, Tavares Jackson, Brodie Croyle, Chad Henne).

The only qb who will go higher is Luck. He ain't leaving the top 10 - franchise qb (draft him and build your team around him).

top 25 pick. imho.

There are alot of other great QB's that he will have to compete with.

Luck (who is really in a class of his own)

I would think he'd be a first round pick even if he couldn't play qb in the nfl.

Maybe 3 that are laughable, but the rest aren't that much of a reach.

Of course we have the luxury of knowing of how some turned out...

Yeah, we all know how the Saints can't stand cheaters. They wouldn't even draft Reggie Bush. Oh, wait...
