. . . why is he not ineligible prior to then? If its based on Cecil's actions in Fall of '09, what makes it an infraction only as of this Monday?

The things that really, really matter are yet to come. If they vacate the previous games...so what? Now, the SECCG and BCSCG are what count. So look forward to your 2-0 BCSNC AU TIGERS!

He ruled eligible for games as of today. The investigation will continue to determine his eligibility PRIOR to today.

To sum it up, Auburn moved to protect their SECCG and BCSCG trophies. Their official record may end up being 2-0 SEC and National Champs.

My understanding is that they were not legally notified of it until this week, therefore Auburn had to rule him inelgible and sought instant reinstatement, which they got.

SEC will strip them of their SEC championship as will the BCS but not the AP. The AP would have to vote to do that.

So what about the whole "AU has been looking at this since Jan." angle?

They haven't addressed the games prior. This is where you look at the Textbook thing as a good parallel. Our players were eligible for the games after they were deemed eligible, and we were punished up to those games.

Auburn has covered themselves by ruling him inelgible when they were notified of the violation. They were notified by the NCAA according to a thread I read earlier of the infraction and had no choice but to rule him inelgible or face future sanctions. The infraction was on behalf of his father and stated that there was not evidence of Cam or Auburn being aware of it. Don't shoot the messanger, just stating my take on it all.

It is my understanding that this currently will not affect any previous or future games unless more evidence of wrongdoing is uncovered.

USC wasn't legally notified for 5 years after Bush left, but they vacated all wins from when he played. Differences/distinctions?

Considering that the entity who restored his eligibility doesn't have an investigative arm...It is going to be interesting here on out..

SEC made the Barn aware of the problem back in July. That's why this crap stinks to high heaven.

Just remember, the NCAA isn't the body that put together the investigation into Reggie Bush and USC. I believe it was Yahoo Sports that first did the investigating and turned their findings over to the NCAA who then created their own 'investigation.'

Not so. If there is evidence revealed/proven in the future that would deem CN ineligible for the regular season games, then you can bet that he would also be found to be ineligible for the SEC CG and future bowl game. Surely to goodness this is not the way your admin/athletic dept think. I could see a bunch fans rallying to this War Eagle cry but if your athletic dept is this shallow then you are in deeper poo poo than I even imagined.

What the hell does being a fan of a particular school have to do with facts? FWIW - I have no idea just how deep the poo poo is for us.
