Actually, the cow college thing comes from the fact that Auburn is a land grant university (Originally Alabama Polytechnic) that has a lot of agricultural programs. Not to mention a large animal clinic and equestrian facilities. There ARE cows on campus, and sheep, and goats, and etc...
