Hard to argue with those numbers, but I don't think anyone has been doubting our Defense anyway.

Just talking to a Bama buddy about this. I really like Bama's defense, but the offense is capable of giving a game away with a pick six or a couple of fumbles.
Not that Bama doesn't have some weapons on offense, but the O is defnitely a work in progress.

Yeah, ok.
(Wicked stats in that article, BTW)

I don't think we have much to worry about... How much worse could our QB play... in 6 games he has been sacked 27 times
Is that a record?

You've obviously not watched much of Bama's offense this year. We only have a few fumbles to our discredit (one of which was an incomplete pass against UNT that the refs refused to acknowledged they'd called wrong). What's more, McElroy has thrown all of ONE interception all year, and that was a play in which he was hit as he threw in his first half as a starter.
Our offense has one or two hang-ups, but devastating turnovers aren't a big concern at this point.

I am looking forward to playing against that Alabama defense. It's low risk, high reward for us. Either our offense sucks as usual, making Alabama look good, which would be no surprise to anyone, or they play to their potential and we make Alabama look stupid, like I usually expect out of an LSU team.

I completely agree; When greg is spreading the ball around we are good enough to beat anyone in the county, when he is in lockon mode to JJ we can be beat by anyone in the country.

quote:Pretty much word for word what my Bammer bud said, but it's pretty obvious your D is good enough to not let you get beat by just anybody. It'd have to be a really good team or a really really lucky less than good team.

Maybe instead of being retards, we are just more interested in what was actually being presented in the thread by the poster. You know..., instead of looking for a way to be a dick. Just a thought.

To beat Bama you have to force the offense to throw the ball, if you do that you can get some picks McElroy has some work to do in that area and that is why they are 'beatable" but it will be difficult to do so. Also your offense must be balanced and adept at using screen plays and passes to the TE to exploit Bama's linebackers in space. If you can do this you can beat Bama, the problem is not many teams can do this UF is the only team playing at the level that can do this.

A good run defense and a good QB can beat Bama this year. Looking at their schedule, that leaves UF in the SECCG.
LSU has a decent run defense but Jefferson is going to get mauled @ Bama. I think he will envy his Florida stats.

What is scary is he is right. Bama is every team they've played and they have yet to put it all together. If bama ever gets firing on all cylenders just watch out!

There isnt a basis to think you can get an interceotion or two off McElroy with pressure. His consecutive completions without an INT speak for themselves. I will concede that you might get an incompletion though.
We have blown up quite a few screens this past year.
I dont know about passes to the tightend. Though if you think that with the closing and lateral speed that a player can make the linebackers miss with any kind of consistency to be a threat then I cant say much.
Maybe a widereciever can make our linebackers miss, but I really doubt a tightend could.
