According to the Ft Lauderdale Sun sentinel Carroll is transferring to FIU in Miami.

if you are gonna transfer to fiu, you might as well transfer to div 2 so that you don't have to sit out a year. not sure if this is a smart move.

carroll sucks, if he didnt suck so bad msu would have beaten au this year instead of losing 3-2 in what was possibly the worst football game ive ever seen

It's true. And I'm sure Mullen gave him a gentle nudge out the door with his foot as well. One of those "you can stay but you won't play" things.

How can MSU never have even a decent QB? A 5'11 walk on QB started most of their games this year. How come they didn't give redshirt freshman Chris Relf a look?

he was planning this before Mullen was hired. I'm sure Mullen didnt' lose too much sleep over it though.

He walked on to the team...I know he transferred. But he was a walk-on, not a scholarship player. They said this several times this year when I watched MSU play, including against us. If you look at their 2008 recruiting class he isn't in it because he is just a walk-on.

He may or may not be. Right now they need all the options they can get that doesn't include 5'11 walk ons.
