When the polls come out next week, there will likely only be one SEC team ranked (Tennessee). The SEC will be lucky to have 3 (4 at most) in the NCAA Tournament. Do you think this is an off-year for the conference or a trend? My thought is that the SEC schools are putting so much money into their football programs, that the basketball programs are suffering by lack of priority funding for facility upgrades, etc., such that they can't compete with the traditional, basketball-rich schools.

Thoughts?

Most teams seem to be going through a rebuilding. I may be wrong because I don't know the situation at any other schools.
