I hooked up with one in NOLA for Mardi Gras. Couldn't imagine actually dating someone from off that.

My best friend actually met his soon to be wife off of there if you can believe it.

I actually knew mine from a long time ago so I guess we didn't technically meet on tinder but we reconnected. Plus this will be like our 3rd time seeing each other in 2 months so I wouldn't call it "dating".

I feel we go after Central Florida's hitting coach. Named best assistant in America, ties to our top recruiting area, young energetic. The next Godwin

He had to have some personal connection with the university or current coaches. Either that or he has the opportunity to work his way up to Head Coach.

There is not a big enough for this.

Just out of curiosity, how much was he getting paid at Ole Miss and how much will he be earning?

His salary was in the top third of the SEC as far as assistants go... He got a raise... I assume he'll make in the $180000-200000 range.. Godwin will be back in the SEC as a head coach a decade from now.

I heard we've already reached out to him about interviewing

Chase's hot board is solid. The ULL guy would be my first choice, they had a great approach at the plate. We can probably pay him more as an assistant than Sam Houston State could as a head coach.

I'm guessing Rebel fans would welcome him back with open arms during that time period. Like I said, I didn't know anything about the guy, was just curious. He sure did do some magic with the heart of y'alls lineup this year, especially Orvis and Allen.

Allen and Bousfield were both .300 hitters their freshman year. They regressed big time as sophomores. If you were forecasting their progression lines during their freshman seasons I'd say they exceeded expectations as Juniors but not as much as most people believe.

Godwin is a good hitting coach, but coaching hitting at the college level has more to do with plate approach than mechanics. That isn't the hard part of the job. The biggest part is evaluating offensive talent. The traditional "hitting coach" part of the job shouldn't be the focus in this search.

Marty Lees
Kevin Schnall
Matt Deggs

Would be my top 3 (in that order) of the names that have been mentioned.

Chase Parham is the only one I've seen putting names out. It's early so the list will probably change daily.

Florida and Metro Memphis are OM's life blood when it comes to assembling teams that can make a run in June... Gotta get someone who has some experience recruiting in one if not both areas... The days of getting the LA kids that LSU misses on are over now that ULL is a program on the rise... Just my two cents.
